TURKEY’S LAW ADVISER IN THE HAGUE COMMENTED ON JUDICIARY IN TURKEY

Dr. Hakan Yavuz who used to work as Law Consultant in the Hague representing Turkey’s Ministry of Justice said he can not guess what might happen to him each time he goes to a courthouse and added: “As a person who worked as state prosecutors for years, I do not want to go to a courthouse even as a witness. I could not guess anymore what would happen to me when I go to a courthouse. Because there are major problems in the system.” Yavuz said based on the statistics of 2015, with its 173,522 inmates Turkey is in the third place among the countries in the Council of Europe following the USA and Russia.
