AKP REGIMES PLAN TO SILENCE OPPONENT MEDIA TOTALLY

The AKP regime which aims to take control of all media institutions and silence the opponent voices developed a new method. The omnibus bill, amending several laws at once, proposes that for any online visual or vocal broadcast internet channels need to get a licence which was criticised as silencing opponent voices. Main opposition party CHP’s MP for İzmir Province, Zekeriya Temizel pointed out the fact that online broadcasts will be revoked for those who do not have the licence and getting a licence will cost more 20,000 TL per month which will cause most internet channels to shut down.
