AKP REJECTED INVESTIGATION FOR THE LOST ARMS

The proposal for the investigation of missing arms is denied by the AKP MPs. Mehmet Tüm, an MP from the main opposition party CHP submitted a proposal to parliament to investigate missing arms that are registered as lost or stolen in the Ministry of Interior’s 2017 activity report. Tüm said the number of missing guns increased 720 percent in the last three years.
Tüm said it is a threat to national security and claimed that the Ministry of Interior hides the facts about the lost arms. In Turkey’s Ministry of Interior’s annual activity report for 2017, 106,746 arms are registered as lost or stolen. The missing arms fuels the allegation that arms are handed out to certain groups by the AKP regime to establish a militia.
