TURKISH GOV’T KEEPS PREGNANT TEACHER UNDER POLICE CUSTODY FOR DAYS

The AKP regime’s systematic persecution is especially applied to women and children. The Turkish government has kept a Sinop teacher who is reportedly pregnant with her second child, as well as her husband, in police custody for the past seven days. Pregnant teacher Ayşegül K. was detained seven days ago in Sinop city. Ayşegül K.’s pregnancy carries the risk of miscarriage according to medical reports. However, she has been in custody for seven days with her husband. The couple’s four-year-old son Burak is left without his parents. There are 17,000 women and almost 1000 babies and toddlers in Turkey’s prisons without valid evidence or convictions.
