ARSLAN: AYDIN DOĞAN SOLD HIS MEDIA GROUP TO AVOID IMPRISONMENT

While the sale of Doğan Media Group to pro-government Demirören group drops a bombshell, news emerges regarding behind the curtain of the sale. Journalist Ayşenur Arslan who worked at Doğan Media Group for years said; “The political reflection of this sale is significant. The government want to create a single voice in media in the run-up to general elections. With this sale, the government’s control over media reached 90 percent.” Arslan claimed that Aydın Doğan had to quit from the media industry and added that “He came to the point that if he did not sell the media group and quit from the industry, he would have faced imprisonment as part of February 28 case.
