CHP DEPUTY PRESIDENT PAID A VISIT TO JOURNALIST HOLD IN CUSTODY IN SİLİVRİ PRISON

CHP’s Deputy President and representative responsible for Human rights  Tekin Bingöl paid a visit to journalists in Silivri Prison. Bingöl visited Akın Atalay from Cumhuriyet and journalists Fatih Gürsul, Ali Bulaç, Osman Kavala, Ahmet Altan and Mehmet Altan in Silivri Prison. During the visit Ahmet Altan said “AKP finished off everything it has other than nationalism card. And now he is playing this card. It can no longer govern this country under these circumstances. According to İklim Öngel’s news at daily Cumhuriyet Bingöl commented on the visit and said ‘the process is evolved into intimidating all the dissidents’.

“The current situation shows us that not only judiciary but also common sense, democracy and rationality are out of use. Today human rights are having its darkest time in the history in Turkey because of the government. Those who try to normalise unlawfulness in this country are that of who define ‘crimes’ arbitrarily instead of by justice,” said Bingöl.
