The total population of foreigners living in Germany reached a record number of 10,600,000 in 2017. According to the data the Federal Statistical Office of Germany announced the main reason of the rise of foreign population is migration within the EU. The number of the EU migrants increased 439,000 last year. Poland, Romania and Bulgaria are the countries where most of the migrants come to Germany within the EU. In Germany 13 percent of the whole population is foreign.
